What was not included in Radical or Not

THE FIVE PILLARS OF ISLAM

First, I am not an Islamic scholar.  I am not recognized as a leading Christian Apologist.  This book represents a personal search for the truth.  My motivation to write Radical or Not, Here I Come, was to simply answer six questions which I recognized were blocking my understanding of what was going on in many national debates about Islam vs. Christianity vs. Democracy vs. protestations that Islam is really a peaceful religion.  The collective national understanding of true Islam seemed to be embarrassingly inadequate.  Every statement in the news appeared to be at odds with international behavior by Muslims, Christians and especially political leaders of Western societies.

As I began to write, I immediately recognized that this could not be a scholarly effort to explain everything about Islam or Christianity.  The amount of information about Islam and Christianity, was already, virtually overwhelming to the average reader.  Therefore I concentrated on pertinent areas only.  My goal was to alert the reader to some very sobering misinformation that seemed to be rampant in the media and national debates.  Many decisions were being made without an underlying understanding of what was really going on.  Hopefully, the reader will be motivated to read the sources I have used and then go on to further research areas I touched and additional pertinent areas.

Because the information I did provide was almost overwhelming, I did not go into the fundamentals of Islam, from A to Z.  Most obvious, I did not cover the Five Pillars of Islam.  Nor did I spend any appreciable time explaining the many sects of Islam nor the many nuances between them.  Scientific proofs of the Koran and the Bible were mentioned but not covered in an academically satisfying effort.  My hope is that the reader’s curiosity has been stimulated and he/she will pursue these and other aspects of the coming tidal wave of conflict between the two major religions of the world.  A Tsunami of conflict, if not all out war, is well on the way and everyone is responsible to research this collision course on their own, and to their own satisfaction.
